A "Hope" baby dolphin puppet from Charles Martin Smith's 2014 family drama, Dolphin Tale 2. Hope is first seen when she is delivered to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium after being rescued. Due to safety concerns and the difficulty of training a baby dolphin, this puppet was created for scenes involving the young animal.
This puppet features a silicone skin over a sturdy frame and includes acrylic eyes. The belly of the dolphin shows an incision, and when the silicone flesh is pushed aside a metallic base can be seen inside where a beam would have attached, allowing the dolphin to be controlled.
This item exhibits minor wear due to production use, but remains in overall very good condition.
