A practical briefcase and tea tray from the 2024 Christmas special episode of the revived sci-fi television series Doctor Who, titled 'Joy to the World'. The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) went around the rooms of the Time Hotel with a tray, offering a "ham and cheese toastie and a pumpkin latte" to guests, until he came upon the hotel's manager (Jonathan Aris) with a briefcase chained to his wrist.
Included in this lot is a practical briefcase with a rubber handcuff, inside which are electronics that, through the use of a modified car key, control a pop-up screen on the lid of the case. Controls for the various functions of the screen are written on the interior of the case, and the key is contained within. Also included is a wooden tray with a green leather base and metal handles, onto which is stuck a plate, mug, and saucer. The mug is filled with dark coloured resin to mimic coffee. The plate has been repaired, though a break is visible.
