Two original paintings created by visual effects designer and artist Ian Scoones, for the sci-fi television series Doctor Who. These two works, completed in 1994 and 1991 but based on imagery conceived from the 1972 episode The Curse of Peladon and the 1974 episode Planet of the Spiders, form part of the basis for the limited edition 'Spacescapes' print series, of which only 2,000 copies were created. These are the hand-painted originals, signed by Scoones.

The first of the paintings depicts the city of Peladon, situated atop storm-swept mountains, and was created in 1994. The second depicts the Queen Spider seated in her cavernous Crystal lair, and was created in 1991. Both paintings are created using gouache on board, and come mounted in card frames. The artist has signed and dated both. Dimensions (framed): 45 cm x 60 cm (17.75" x 23.75")
