Hans Gruber's (Alan Rickman) Kenwood radio from John McTiernan's Die Hard. Gruber used his Kenwood radio to communicate both with John McClane (Bruce Willis), as well as his team of terrorists, in Nakatomi Plaza throughout the film.

Based on the novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp, Die Hard grossed $140 million on its initial $25 million to $35 million budget, and defied the predictions of industry professionals. It is considered one of the greatest action films of all time and a revitalization of the genre, with Gruber's reliance on his personal radio a reflection of a more coldly devious nature than traditionally violent villains.

This Kenwood TH-21BT two-way radio originated from the film's assistant property master. Composed of a plastic body, buttons and screw-on aerial, this radio features a detachable battery, four battery screws, and an antenna. This radio had decals removed from its rear, including its Kenwood logo decal, so that the brand name wouldn't be seen in close-up shots of Gruber speaking into his radio. This was done with the hope of avoiding any negative association between the Kenwood brand and the villainous Gruber. This lot exhibits mild scuffing to the finish and a buildup of grime.
