A three-page letter to British DJ John Peel handwritten by David Bowie circa 1969. This lot originally came from Peel's archive, which was auctioned in 2022.

The letter begins with Bowie expressing his sadness at Peel's programme time changing, and saying that he tries to listen while visiting friends but currently has no permanent address. He then relates the success of the Arts Lab project he was involved in, and shares plans for his next venture. The letter also includes three rough sketches. The first is a diagram of the Arts Lab building layout. The other two feature plans for an inflatable outdoor stage, to be attached to a pantechnicon lorry. He finishes the letter by saying he has also sent Peel a copy of his latest single and will contact him again soon.

The lot comprises three sheets of lined paper on which the letter is written in turquoise ink. "David Bowie" is written in the top right corner above the address, and he has signed the letter "Bowie". The paper exhibits minor discolouration around the edges from age, creasing and a small tear on one sheet. This lot comes with a Tracks Ltd. letter of authenticity.
