Roland "The Gunslinger" Deschain's (Idris Elba) screen-matched custom metal Remington 1858 New Army revolver with Jake Chambers' (Tom Taylor) screen-matched art notebook from Nikolaj Arcel's The Dark Tower. The Gunslinger wielded his namesake revolvers while protecting the titular tower from The Man in Black, aka Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey). In another dimension, Chambers drew pictures of his visions, including a mysterious gunslinger, a black-clad warlock, and a dark tower.
Distinctive areas of discoloration and weathering around the main glyph next to the barrel and unique markings on the trigger guard screen-match this revolver to a close-up shot during the scene in which the Gunslinger got ammunition from a gunshop, just before the Man in Black arrived. Additionally, unique creases on the cover of the notebook screen-matches to when Chambers left his kitchen table to get ready for school.
Based on Stephen King's novel series of the same name, The Dark Tower combined various elements from the novels and served as a sequel to the novels themselves. Production for the film began 10 years before its release and it grossed $113.2 million worldwide. The Gunslinger and his signature dual firearms appeared throughout the global promotional campaign.
