Batman's (Christian Bale) light-up Batpod gun turret from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, drove his Batpod through the tunnels of Gotham City as he tried to stop the Joker (Heath Ledger) and his henchmen from kidnapping District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart).
Batman's high-tech Batpod was designed by director Christopher Nolan and Nolan's regular production designer Nathan Crowley with engineering by special effects supervisor Chris Corbould's team. This is the complete housing and gun barrel assembly designed to mount via holes and panels to the front left side of the Batpod (driver's left side), positioned on the exterior of the front tire.
For their performances as an immovable object and an unstoppable force, Bale and Ledger each won a People's Choice Awards® for Favorite On-Screen Match-Up. Bale also won a third People's Choice Award® for Favorite Superhero for his portrayal of the titular superhero.
This fiberglass turret features resin, nylon, and metal compressor detailing and a dark gray finish painted in keeping with the aesthetic of Batman's Tumbler. It is equipped with a static metal and resin grappling hook launcher, a static metal and dark gray resin 40mm cannon that detaches from the base, and a static resin 50 cal machine gun muzzle.
The outer side of the turret features a yellow-glow headlight designed to illuminate when connected to power via a power cable. The turret exhibits some scratching and paint flaking from production use. Dimensions: 34.5" x 14.5" x 4.75" (87.25 cm x 37 cm x 11.75 cm)
