An exceptionally rare and collectable signed original production cel setup featuring Danger Mouse and Penfold from the classic British animated series Danger Mouse, used in the episode "Once Upon a Time Slip".

Premiering in 1981, Danger Mouse became a cultural phenomenon, charming audiences (both children and adults) across the UK and around the world with its sharp wit, quirky characters, and sly parody of spy thrillers.

Cosgrove Hall Productions, founded by Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall, is one of the most influential studios in British animation history, responsible for classics like Count Duckula, The Wind in the Willows, and The BFG. Their hallmark was combining outstanding design, clever writing, and expert craftsmanship, making them a true powerhouse of UK animation.

This particular piece was exclusively available at a London gallery event in 2001, where a limited number of lucky fans and collectors were given the rare opportunity to meet the typically private David Jason and have their artwork signed by him and Brian Cosgrove. The lot comprises two layers of original hand-painted cels and a presentation background. It is a beautifully staged setup with vibrant colours and lively character expressions.

This standout piece is made even more special as it is signed in black ink by Brian Cosgrove, co-founder of Cosgrove Hall Productions, and Sir David Jason (perhaps best known for iconic roles in Only Fools and Horses and Open All Hours), the beloved voice of Danger Mouse himself.
