A prelim hand-illustrated by renowned commercial artist Birney A. Lettick as well as three additional hand-drawn concept sketches for a poster for Michael Apted's Continental Divide. The film is today best known as both star John Belushi's first dramatic leading role in a feature, as well as the first film credited to Steven Spielberg's production company Amblin Entertainment.

Among the most respected commercial artists of the 1970s and 80s, Lettick produced popular one-sheets and promotional art for a number of blockbuster hits, including Heaven Can Wait, Foul Play, Escape from Alcatraz, and Valley Girl. His artwork is today held in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.

This set consists of a board-backed prelim on paper for the final one-sheet featuring Ernie Souchak (Belushi) and Nell Porter (Blair Brown) and signed by Lettick, as well as three additional sketches of Souchak and Porter on Bainbridge board. The artworks are rendered in graphite, ink, and watercolors. Also included is a color-printed and matted mock-up of the final one-sheet. The lot exhibits discoloration, some tearing, and peeling to the lettering on the mock-up. Dimensions: (largest) 26.5"x 20" (67.5 cm x 51 cm)
