A lightweight sword used in the production of Marcus Nispel's 2011 action remake, Conan the Barbarian. In the film, a barbarian warrior named Conan (Jason Momoa) seeks vengeance against the evil Khalar Zym (Stephen Lang), murderer of his father. The sword was used in the initial battle scenes centred around Conan’s garishly brutal birth, and Conan himself, grown up and vengeful, can also be seen battling with this sword in the closing scenes of the movie, and in various promotional images and poster art.
The sword presented here is a predecessor to the iconic ram’s head design, seen being created by Corin (Ron Perlman) and his son Conan, still featuring the curved horn guard and very Cimmerian-looking horn pommel. The entire sword is made of tightly pressed bamboo, making it much lighter than the metal versions and easier to swing during the action sequences by the actors. The piece has been skilfully decorated to look identical to the hero weapons, featuring every detail and stunning paintwork to bring the weapon to life.

Displaying only minor wear from its time in use on the fantasy epic, the weapon measures 107cm (42”) in length and remains in an excellent condition.
