A Mayflower Project jumpsuit and pre-production alien mask from the production of Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Small alien creatures revealed themselves to humanity in the film's climax at Devils Tower. At the same time, Mayflower Project volunteers wore jumpsuits as they boarded the aliens' ship to join them on their interstellar journey.

The alien mask is made of latex, hand-painted green, and features plastic eyes. Tom Burman Studios was employed to make pre-production masks when the on-screen appearance of the alien visitors was still being conceptualised and finalised. The jumpsuit is made of nylon and features several zip pockets across its exterior surface.

The jumpsuit is missing its US flag and Mayflower Project patches, with remnants of dried glue left where they had been.
