A set of four end credit storyboard pages hand-drawn by George Jensen for Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The UFO mothership landed at Devil's Tower, releasing various individuals they had join them on their travels from different eras, before they took Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) as their next traveler.
This lot comes from the collection of legendary special photographic effects artist Douglas Trumbull, who received an Academy Award® nomination for his groundbreaking VFX work on the film. It consists of four hand-drawn storyboards rendered in ink with handwritten notes about each frame; and an American Cinematographer magazine dated January 1978 documenting the filming of the film. This lot exhibits discoloration on the storyboards, as well as minor scuffing on the magazine's spine from age and handling. Dimensions: (largest) 12" x 9" (30.5 cm x 23 cm)
