Five of Ray Harryhausen's reference stills from the production of Desmond Davis' epic fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans. This lot comes from Harryhausen's personal collection.

This set comprises five black-and-white behind-the-scenes photographs: three of the Medusa model, one of the head of the statue of Thetis (Maggie Smith), and one of Tim Pigott-Smith in costume as Thallo. All the images have Harryhausen's handwritten notes or reference numbers on the reverse. Dimensions (largest): 20.5 cm x 25.5 cm (8" x 10")

This lot comes from the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation, a collection of items from the long and illustrious career of special effects and animation legend Ray Harryhausen. Proceeds from this auction will assist with the Foundation's future projects, including the ongoing preservation of Harryhausen's creature collection.
