An honour guard shield from Desmond Davis’ fantasy epic Clash of the Titans. Based on famous Greek myths, the film tells the story of Perseus’ (Harry Hamlin) adventures through ancient Greece as he seeks to save the princess Andromeda (Judi Bowker) from the Kraken.
This shield was used by a member of the honour guard who accompanied Perseus (Harry Hamlin) on his quest to save Andromeda (Judi Bowker). It screen matches the shield used when the guardsman was killed by Cerberus.

The shield is made of aluminium with a resin snake motif fixed to the front. The finish is executed in bronze paint with a wave design on the front edge and a chain design on the rear. A metal handle is attached to the rear.

The shield shows significant wear—likely from use on subsequent productions—with breakages to the motif, scratches and dents on the front and paint flaking on the rear. However, in spite of this wear, the shield remains in fair condition.
