A special effects knife hilt from David Twohy's 2004 action sci-fi film The Chronicles of Riddick.

The wanted criminal Richard Bruno Riddick (Vin Diesel) arrives on a planet called Helion Prime and finds himself up against an invading empire called the Necromongers, an army that plans to convert or kill all humans in the universe.

This style of 'SFX' prop would have been made for scenes in which Riddick stabbed Necromonger soldiers with their knives. This device has a very ornate handle made from resin and painted a weathered black.

Attached to this is a square of black foam with masking tape around it, which displays some dried and cracked fake blood. This piece of foam has a metal bar at each end holding a black nylon strap in place with the aid of black Velcro. The piece has some wear from production use and age, including scuffing and scratches, but otherwise remains in an excellent condition.
