A fantastic costume worn in the production of the Vin Diesel sequel The Chronicles of Riddick. Riddick (Vin Diesel), hidden for five years after the events of the movie Pitch Black, is forced to come out of hiding to fight the villainous Necromongers, and fulfil a dark prophecy in the process.
This costume was worn by the nefarious Necromonger Lord Marshal (Colm Feore) in the final battle between Riddick and the Necromonger commander, as the Lord Marshal tries to prevent his prophesised demise at the hands of the Furyan renegade. Stabbed in the back by Riddick's friend Kyra (Alexa Davalos), the distraction soon brings about the Lord Marshal's end, and Riddick is left to ascend the Necromonger throne.
Made for use in stunt sequences, the costume consists of an ornately detailed cowl with a lined chain mail hood, with links being made from titanium, with highly detailed shoulder armour with a face design on each side made in hard rubber. Both the breast and back plates are made from hard rubber and have hand cut leather inserts. The leg and arm armour and cod piece are also made from hard rubber. The entire armour set is finished in shades of brown and bronze to give the armour an intimidating, regal and worn appearance. A hole in the rear, laced with fake blood, is present from the stab in the back by Kyra.
Underneath the armour is a black body suit made of a lycra type fabric to allow easy movement during stunts. The gauntlets are made from black leather with gold painted decoration. The greaves are made from plastic with Velcro fastening and have black leather boots underneath.
A highly imaginative and creative suit of armour, the costume remains in an overall good production-used condition, with some minor wear to the armour’s finish and some light damage to the detailing on the cowl. The boots are marked as a size 11 and the arm armour marked as "Stunt #2", with no other sizes marked.
