A hero Meccan soldiers rifle made for and used in the production of David Twohy’s 2004 action sequel The Chronicles of Riddick.

Riddick (Vin Diesel), hidden for five years after the events of the movie Pitch Black, is forced to come out of hiding to fight the villainous Necromongers, and fulfil a dark prophecy in the process.

This rifle and others like it were made for the production and carried by soldiers in New Mecca, a city on the planet Helion Prime. Riddick hides there and is reunited with Imam (Keith David) but the city is captured by the Necromongers.

Made predominantly of resin, plastic and metal, the gun has been hand painted and intentionally distressed to look realistic. The gun has two metal barrels and on the top there is a compartment where batteries would have been placed to power the lighting inside the gun. The trigger mechanism works and there are two switches which would have powered lights and mechanisms although they are currently non-functioning.

The piece shows some wear from production use and storage, including some cracking on both sides of the bulk of the weapon. There are some additional scuffs and scratches beyond the intentional distress, but the piece remains in an otherwise good condition.
