A satyr mask and gloves worn in the production of the Disney children’s fantasy adventure film The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. Evacuated from London in the midst of the Second World War, the children of the Pevensie family discover a magical wardrobe that leads to the faraway land of Narnia.
This mask was made for one of the many fantastical background performers, with this particular head belonging to a half-man half-goat “satyr.” Made of lycra and foam latex with rubber horns and immaculately punched hair, the head is designed to be worn directly over the head of a performer, with holes in the mouth, nose and eyes to allow the performer to breath and see while on set. The head is beautifully finished, with paint details giving a deep brown skin tone and brown, almost wood-like horns. Inside the mask is a stitched production tag that reads "Background Satyr 6."

Paired with the mask are a pair of satyr hands which consists of three foam latex fingers attached to a lyrca glove that is covered in hand-punched brown hair. Both the mask and the hands show minor wear due to production use and age, however they remain in overall very good worn condition.
