An original Minotaur costume from the 2008 blockbuster sequel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Minotaurs can be seen throughout the film, most noticeably when traveling with Prince Caspian who has gained the support of the "old Narnians" to ward off an evil king and restore the rightful heir to the land's throne.
This costume is made from a large foam upper body suit that encompasses the chest, back and both arms. It is covered in faux black and gray fur and features a detachable head which includes a mechanical facial armature for expression and is covered in a darker brown fur.
The body is one piece, with a zip opening in the back for the actor to wear. It is cut off at the knee area where the legs would have been CG’d in for the final film. Additionally, there are several red Velcro strips attached throughout the body used as CGI tracking dots as well as an area located at back not covered by fur; this is believed to be where the character would have been covered by armor in the film.
The head has a face made from foam latex painted brown with very intricate detailing, glass eyes, as well as very large horns on the top. The animatronics are still present in the face, that would have controlled the eye movement, mouth and expressions.
Best of all this item comes mounted to a mannequin which stands on top of a custom made display base featuring the film's title that illuminates with the press of a button on the back. The display features some wear due to production use, slight chipping at the horns (see photos), but remains in overall good condition.
