An Original Asterius Minotaur Costume from the 2008 blockbuster sequel, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. This costume can be seen throughout the film, most noticeably when the Minotaur is traveling with Prince Caspian to ward off an evil king and restore the rightful heir to the land's throne.
This costume is made from a large foam upper body suit that encompasses the chest, back and both arms. The body is covered in an faux brown fur and features an attached head which includes a mechanical facial armature for expression and happens to be the only fully animatronic head made for the film!
The entire suit is one piece, with a zipper opening in the back for the actor to slip in and out. The costume is cut off at the knee area where the legs would have been created using CGI. The main face features very large horns on the top, and can be screen matched by the paint grain and the three cut's present. The main face is made from foam latex that is painted brown with very intricate detailing, and glass eyes. The animatronics are still present in the face, which would have controlled the eye movement, mouth and facial expressions.
This item comes mounted on a display mannequin which stands on top of a custom built display base featuring the film's title that illuminates with the press of a button on the back. Although this piece features minor wear from production use, it remains in overall very good condition.
