Karellen's (Charles Dance) pair of facial appliances and gloves from the production of the television miniseries Childhood's End. Karellen appeared as a devil-esque alien at the end of the first episode, "The Overlords," 15 years after the Overlords bettered the world for humanity and came to be regarded as humanity's "guardian angels."

Based on the 1953 novel by Arthur C. Clarke, Childhood's End received significant acclaim from critics, earning a prestigious Critics' Choice TV Award® nomination for Best Movie Made for Television or Limited Series. Dance's performance continued the renowned actor's streak of roles in science-fiction and fantasy, which to date have resulted in two Actors Award® (formerly Screen Actors Guild Award®) wins and four additional nominations.
This set of Karellen makeup appliances ornately detailed for production but ultimately unseen in the final cut originates from a crew member. It consists of two silicone face appliances, including one ornately hand-painted and hand-marked "3/5 Charles Loc 8 11/2" along its edge as well as one unpainted and hand-marked "3/5 Charles Loc 9 12/2." Also included are two foam Karellen gloves painted to resemble devilish hands in shades of red and brown with horn-like, fingertip-free protrusions. The set shows evidence of minor wear commensurate with on-set use, handling, and age, including discoloration from ink spread and flaked paint.
