A screenplay and storyboards from the production of Mike Nichols’ 2007 biographical comedy-drama film Charlie Wilson’s War. Texas congressman Charlie Wilson's covert assistance to rebels fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan led to unforeseen repercussions.
The screenplay is written by the award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin adapted it from George Crile III’s 2003 book Charlie Wilson's War: The Extraordinary Story of the Largest Covert Operation in History.
Dated 09.07.05, the second draft screenplay comprises 153 pages of hole-punched A4 paper, bound by a metal clip inside a green card cover. The printed storyboards comprise 33 pages of hole-punched A4 paper, bound by dual metal clips. They depict a sequence in which Soviet helicopters are attacked by Afghan mujahideen, and a sequence in which Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks) is inebriated behind the wheel of his car.
The lot is in excellent condition.
