A cat maquette and reference head from Lawrence Guterman’s family action-comedy Cats & Dogs. Phil Tippett’s effects company, Tippett Studio, is credited with creating the visual effects for the film.

The cat maquette is made from foam latex and is painted green. A metal pole extends from the cat’s center and out its left side. Cast in resin, the reference head has a note attached noting that this head should serve as reference for the appearance of the cat in the final film. A resin cat paw that is painted grey is also included with the head.

Showing some signs of wear and age, such as slight drying and cracking in the maquette, this lot is in overall good condition. Dimensions (maquette): 16” x 6” x 7” (40.75 cm x 15.25 cm x 17.75 cm); dimensions (reference head): 7” x 7” x 7” (17.75 cm x 17.75 cm x 17.75); dimensions (paw): 6 ½” x 2” x 2” (16.5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm)
