From one of the greatest American films of all time, which also boasts a perfectly crafted screenplay, is this one sheet for "Casablanca," co-starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Reflecting the wartime activities that play out in the film that were occuring in the world at the time, the design features photographic scenes with a blurb beneath them, similar to that of a newspaper. Originally folded, this example was professionally linen-backed and expertly touch-upped on portions of the folds (primarily the upper and lower) to address general wear and cross-fold separation, with slightly more touch-up along the bottom portion of the vertical fold. Sporadic airbrushing was applied to just portions of the borders to correct pinholes, chips, and edge tears. The restoration was executed intelligently, as the restorer chose not to airbrush the borders completely and instead addressed only the main issues.

"Casablanca" is a romantic drama directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Filmed mostly at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, it was written by the Epstein brothers and Howard Koch. Surpassing expectations, the film won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has since become a cultural classic, celebrated for its characters, dialogue, and iconic theme song.
