A set of exploded HYDRA flamethrower armour used in the production of Joe Johnston’s 2011 entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: The First Avenger.
Scrawny Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is rejected for military service as the United States marches to war against Japan and Germany. Helped by Dr Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci), Rogers enlists as part of a “super soldier” experiment, becoming the famous Captain America and taking the war to the nefarious Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).
This style of armour was used by the HYDRA flamethrower troopers as they try and finish off Captain America during the pursuit of the Red Skull, with this particular unit worn by the trooper blown up by Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) during the battle.
The equipment is made of plastic and rubber and is composed of a large chest armour piece, a backpack and two shoulder bells emblazoned with the HYDRA emblem. Detailed with an array of hoses and other equipment, the backpack and surrounding armour components have been distressed to appear as though it has exploded, with special effects “squib” rigging still present inside and residue from the pyrotechnics still present on the outside.
Intentionally distressed for use and displaying plenty of signs of production wear, this exploded HYDRA flamethrower armour remains in overall good production-used condition.
Materials: Rubber, Plastic, Ferrous Metals.
