A wooden stake used in the production of the Fran Rubel Kuzui and Joss Whedon comedy-horror film Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When shallow cheerleader Buffy Summers (Kristy Swanson) is approached by the mysterious Merrick (Donald Sutherland), her life changes forever, trading in her pom-poms for stakes and crosses in her battle with the vampire Lothos (Rutger Hauer).
This style of solid wood stake was used at various points throughout the film by Buffy and Merrick in their battle with the minions of Lothos. The stake is made of worked wood with plenty of natural woodgrain visible and a dark stained finish. The word “Girl” has been written at the top of the stake in black ink. The piece measures 44 cm (17.5”) in length.

Displaying some wear to the piece including minor paint wear and notches in the wood at the top from the time of its construction, the piece remains in overall very good condition and is presented in a custom-made framed display featuring the film’s title artwork, stills from the film and an opening front panel allowing direct access to the piece.
