Brothers Grimm, The

Miniature Cemetary Statue

Stock #9012

A model miniature statue used in the Terry Gilliam movie The Brothers Grimm. Pretending to be experts in the occult, Wilhelm and Jakob Grimm (Matt Damon and Heath Ledger) trick a town into believing they had rid them of a terrible witch’s ghost. Called upon by a French General, the brothers are sent to a remote town where young women keep disappearing, and where they learn that all tales aren’t always a figment of the imagination…

This small skeletal grave marker was used in the scene when the brothers enter the cemetery looking for the lost children. Cavaldi (Peter Stormare) stands next to a full size version, but when you see this model in full, Cavaldi has been added on to the scale set using CGI. The statue is a skeletal figure draped in a cloth and holding a bundle of some kind. Made from plaster, this miniature statue has been finished to create the appearance of stone and green moss. “Dirt” has been applied to the piece, in with the cemetery setting and the left side of the statue features a creeping vine.

This item features signs of wear including a piece of the skeletal fingers has broken off, minor cracks in the back and lots of intentional distressing. However, in spite of this wear, the miniature statue remains in good production-used condition. The piece measures 28cm (11") x 11 cm (4.5”).
