A Scottish war hammer from Mel Gibson’s 1995 drama Braveheart.

When his secret bride is executed for assaulting an English soldier who tried to rape her, William Wallace (Mel Gibson) begins a revolt against King Edward I of England.

This Scottish war hammer, and others like it, were used to arm the Scottish fighters in their clashes against the English. This item is made of wood, stained a darker brown, with a solid metal head which is attached to the shaft of the weapon by two long pieces of metal.

This piece displays signs of production use, most notably a chip at the bottom of the axe handle, exposing the lighter-grained wood beneath the varnish. Despite this, it remains in good, production-used condition.
