A screen-matched Scottish targe and sword with an English banner from Mel Gibson's Oscar®-winning medieval biopic Braveheart. Scotsmen wielded wooden targes and swords during the historic Battle of Stirling. Later, their enemies - the English - raised various signal banners during the Battle of Falkirk. Distinctive points of wear and visible cracking in the wooden targe screen-match to the battle line sequence.

Originating from Weird and Wonderful Ltd., this lot contains a targe painted black with a metal hand covering and wooden handle on the reverse. Also included are a metal sword with a carved wooden handle and a textured pommel and a green and yellow painted burlap banner with leather straps along the edge. Components of this lot were displayed at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas Room 829. This lot exhibits tarnishing on the sword, worn material on the targe and banner, and a tear in the banner. Dimension: (largest) 38.5" x 10" x 1" (98 cm x 24.5 cm x 2.75 cm)
