Officer K's (Ryan Gosling) light-up open emanator matched (learn more about screen matching) to the antennae removal scene from BLADE RUNNER 2049. Blade runners, including Officer K, worked for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to decommission rogue replicants-bioengineered humanoid servants that broke free of their human masters-and retire them. Emanators were used to "free" Joi (Ana de Armas) from the bounds of Officer K's apartment so she could travel outside its borders and interact with humans. This emanator was used in the scene in Deckard's apartment where Joi (Ana de Armas) told K to put her in the emanator and break the antennae even if it put her at risk. The emanator screen matches based on scratches on the body to close-ups of K removing and breaking the antennae.
This lot includes one black plastic and silver-color metal light-up open emanator shaped as a long, squarish tube with beveled edges along its entire length. A round light ring lies embedded in the device and "joi" and a small numeric figure are carved into the plastic. Also included are two broken-in-half antennae that were used with this prop, and an unbroken antennae.
According to production wrap documents, this is one of two prop light-up open emanators that was created for the film.
The emanator remains overall in very good condition.
