Black Panther's stunt helmet from Ryan Coogler's Black Panther on a Chadwick Boseman lifecast. T'Challa (Boseman) undertook the mantle of Black Panther-the king and warrior leader of Wakanda-after his father T'Chaka (John Kani) was killed in Captain America: Civil War. As the feline-inspired superhero, he wore a stylized helmet and a specialized suit made of vibranium that, in an upgraded version, used nanotechnology spread from his claw necklace.
The sixth film in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Black Panther is today recognized among the most successful films in world history, earning more than $1.35 billion in global box office receipts and prestigious accolades such as three Academy Awards®, including one for costume designer Ruth E. Carter. As of 2026, Carter is the most-nominated Black woman in Oscar® history, with multiple nominations for her continued collaborations with Coogler.
In an interview, Gil Robertson - co-founder and president of the African American Film Critics Association - stated that Black Panther's financial success and cultural impact let it become a "gate-opener opportunity for other Black-centered projects." Black Panther won three Academy Awards®, one BAFTA®, two Grammy Awards®, and was nominated for three Golden Globes®. Director Coogler went on to direct Sinners, also starring Michael B. Jordan, which broke the record for film with the most Academy Award® nominations to date.
During filming, this two-piece fiberglass helmet sustained cracking on the cheeks, after which it was removed from circulation. The helmet's back plate fastens in place with magnets and the interior surface is lined with neoprene, with "D-1" and "Stunt" marked on the interior.
The helmet comes displayed on a custom lifecast of Boseman; his lifecast was taken in order to make the helmets as form-fitting as possible. The lifecast was dressed with original production fabric from the Black Panther suit, as well as silver-color resin claw pieces to create a bust for displaying the original film-used helmet. This lot exhibits some discoloration on the interior and exterior of the helmet as minor surface cracking and chipping. Dimensions: 22.5" x 11.5" x 17" (57.25 cm x 29.25 cm x 43.25 cm)
Estimate: $100,000 - 200,000
