Black Hawk Down

US Army Ranger M-16 Rifle

Stock #68224

"Y'know what I think? Don't really matter what I think. Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that s**t just goes right out the window."

A stunt M-16 assault rifle from the production of Ridley Scott’s 2001 war movie Black Hawk Down.

Forced by political pressure to try and capture a local rebel leader, the US military plan and execute a daring snatch and grab in the heart of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. But when the mission goes horribly wrong, surrounded on all sides by local militia, it’s up to the soldiers on the ground to save their brethren before it’s too late.

This M-16 and others like it were made for the film to be used during the urban combat of the Battle of Mogadishu as the US Army fought their way out of the city. Made of hard rubber with steel armatures for additional reinforcement, the weapon is moulded from a real AR15-A2 rifle (the civilian version of the M-16) and is such a good cast that weapon manufacturer details and serial numbers are clearly visible. Tape is wrapped around the butt stock of the rifle with paracord used to attach the rifle's black sling in Ranger fashion.

Covered in dust from filming in Morocco, there is wear, including scuffing, scratches and damaged from use on the production, however the weapon remains in an overall very good production-used condition.

Materials: Rubber, Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
