A spiked club weapon from Ted Post's sci-fi sequel Beneath the Planet of the Apes. In the hopes of rescuing a lost astronaut, a second astronaut finds himself on Earth in the distant future where apes sit at the top of the evolutionary ladder.
Brent (James Franciscus) uses his spiked club to fight Taylor (Charlton Heston) when a mutant telepathically forces them to fight to the death. The club consists of a short wooden staff fixed to two rounded metal pieces with three spikes fixed to each piece. The club also has two pinholes drilled on either side near the base of the club made to string a carrying strap through. Made for production, the piece has been purposefully distressed for production use and shows signs of wear, such as a chipped middle spike and peeled wood along the staff from age, however, the club remains in good overall condition.
