Batgirl’s (Alicia Silverstone) mask from the production of Joel Schumacher’s 1997 superhero film Batman & Robin.

Batman (George Clooney) and Robin (Chris O’Donnell) must work together to stop Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) from destroying Gotham City.

Barbara transformed into Batgirl when she realised Robin and Batman needed rescuing from Poison Ivy’s lair and helped rid Gotham City of evil. The mask was part of her Batgirl outfit designed by her uncle Albert.

Made from rigid rubber, the mask resembles a bat silhouette and has been painted in metallic blue creating a futuristic appearance. The piece was moulded to perfect fit around Silverstone’s eyes and face. The rubber on the back of the mask has become slightly worn and displays minor bubbling from the moulding process. Remnants of glue where the mask was affixed to Alicia’s face is also present on the back. However, in spite of this wear the mask remains in very good condition. The mask is accompanied by a promotional still of Silverstone in the role of Batgirl.
