The Penguin's (Danny DeVito) black-and-white swirl umbrella from Tim Burton's Batman Returns. The Penguin used a variety of umbrellas as one of his signature devices. After he took Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) captive, the Penguin pulled out different umbrellas each with a devastating effect, before he pulled one with a swirl-patterned top. He used his spiral umbrella to lull Shreck into a false-sense of security before firing blanks at him.

This umbrella consists of a nylon polyester canopy with resin endcaps, a metal shaft, and a wooden hook handle. The canopy is black with a hand-painted white latex spiral at centre. This lot exhibits chipped paint and wood. Dimensions: 104.25 cm x 10.25 cm x 10.25 cm (41" x 4" x 4")
