A small rocket penguin from the production of the 1992 comic-inspired action sequel Batman Returns. When the Penguin (Danny DeVito) rises to the heights of Gotham’s elite, teaming with secretary-turned-cat burglar Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) to rid the city of Batman (Michael Keaton), the caped crusader must use all of his cunning to save Gotham City and restore peace and order.
The Penguin (Danny DeVito) delivered his inspirational speech to a crowd of rocket-clad penguins, the film production using models to fill out the crowd of live birds, many of whom wouldn't stay still for the duration of the sequence. Crafted from a combination of rubber and foam, the small model wears a faux silver painted helmet and a harness, that features rivet detailing. A rocket made from resin is attached to its back and has been finished in a white candy stripe pattern. The penguin displays some wear from production use including the loss of a piece on the rocket and damage to the tip of the rocket and some minor paint cracks and marks to the finish. The rocket penguin remains in very good condition.
