A Bat Cave matte painting hand-painted by Bill Mather for Tim Burton's superhero sequel Batman Returns. This large matte painting of the Bat Cave with notable outcroppings, the lower of which features Bruce Wayne's computer station and the upper of which feature darkened areas for Bruce to repair the car while Alfred (Michael Gough) approaches in composited live-action shots, is rendered in mixed media on glass and hand-marked "BM 71" in the upper right corner. Several letters in the marking are illegible due to fading, and the painting exhibits chipping and smudging. Dimensions: 49.5" x 61" x 1" (125.75 cm x 155 cm x 2.5 cm)
