A Gotham City police badge made for the 1995 Val Kilmer superhero movie Batman Forever. Batman must take on the twin evil forces of Two-Face, formerly DA Harvey Dent (Tommy Lee Jones), and Edward Nygma, now the Riddler (Jim Carrey). He is aided by amorous psychologist Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman) and a new sidekick, Robin (Chris O’Donnell).
Gotham City police wore sew-on patches in this style in numerous scenes, including the opening moments where Two-Face wreaks havoc in Gotham. This style of patch was also worn by the security guard in Dr. Meridian’s building, and by police officers at Wayne Enterprises following E. Nygma’s murder of supervisor Fred Stickley (Ed Begley Jr.).
The patch features ‘Gotham City Police Dept.’ embroidered in yellow and blue. The shield-shaped crest consists of an embroidered sword surrounded by the silhouette of City Hall and a cog-like arch, completed with a banner for the words ‘Police Dept.’. Behind the illustration, yellow and black radiating stripes complete the badge’s design.
The badge remains in excellent production-used condition.
Materials: Woven Man-Made Fibres.
