A set of 24 contact sheets from the production of Tim Burton's Batman. These contact sheets were shot by legendary still photographer Murray Close, whose images from the productions of such films as The Dark Crystal, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Shining, Jurassic Park, and Mission: Impossible - as well as dozens of others - are among the most recognizable and commonly distributed in world cinema.

Shot in black-and-white on 35mm Kodak TMY 5053 stock, the set depicts director Tim Burton as well as key cast members on set including Batman and Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton), Jack Napier aka Joker (Jack Nicholson), Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger), Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Gough), Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl), Harvey Dent (Billy Dee Williams), Commissioner Gordon (Pat Hingle), Mayor Borg (Lee Wallace), Lt. Max Eckhardt (William Hootkins), as well as Joker's goons and the surgeon (Steve Plytas) who gave him his Joker face. Each shot is hand-numbered in white, while several images have red-ink hand-markings including the letter "P," the letter "X," or have been circled, crossed out, or given check marks by production.
