A concept sketch of the Batwing hand-drawn by special visual effects head Derek Meddings for the production of Tim Burton's Batman. Batman (Michael Keaton) flew his signature Batwing throughout the film while taking on Jack Napier aka Joker (Jack Nicholson). Construction for the beloved vehicle was supervised by Meddings, who along with John Evans received a BAFTA® nomination for Best Special Effects for his work on the film.

This sketch of the Batwing as seen from its left side is rendered in graphite on drawing paper along with a second incomplete sketch of the vehicle's nose. The paper is three-hole-punched and hand-marked "842117" in blue ink along its top edge. It exhibits visible liquid staining at the top with minor edge folding on the bottom. Dimensions: 10.5" x 13" (26.5 cm x 33 cm)
