Vicki Vale's (Kim Basinger) distressed Time magazine cover headlined "Corto Maltese Revolution" with a hand-illustrated brownline of Gotham City from the production of Tim Burton's Batman. Upon seeing Vale's pictures of a violent rebel uprising in Corto Maltese - an Easter Egg referring to Frank Miller's acclaimed 1986 DC Comics miniseries Batman: The Dark Knight - on the cover of Time magazine during his assault on Gotham City, Jack Napier aka Joker (Jack Nicholson) commented "I don't know if it's art, but I like it."

This lot consists of a Time magazine cover custom-made for the production but ultimately unseen in the final cut, as well as a printed brownline of the Gotham City downtown from the production labeled "Ext. Gotham City." Headlined "Corto Maltese Revolution pics by Vicki Vale" with a picture of a dead soldier on front and an unrelated 1988 Marlboro Lights advertisement printed on the reverse, the cover originated from a Sotheby's London auction held June 1993. Originally drafted by production draughtsman Dave Allday under the direction of production supervisor Anton Furst, the browline features lines and small symbols handwritten in graphite. The cover exhibits intentional distressing by production with creasing, tears, and white ink misprints along its edges. The brownline exhibits extensive fold lines, creasing, and small tears.
