Barbarella's (Jane Fonda) screen and photo-matched costume from Roger Vadim's sci-fi classic Barbarella. Barbarella changed into her caped costume on Dildano's (David Hemmings) ship and wore it when she was captured by Durand Durand (Milo O'Shea) to be killed in the "Exsexsive Machine." Fonda also appeared in her caped costume in black-and-white promotional photographs. The cape matches scenes in the film and the promotional photographs through the placement of the spots.

The film is a cult classic and is well known for its distinctive production design, costuming, and overall campy aesthetics. It has also had a larger influence on culture as a whole, For instance, it influenced the work of Jean-Paul Gaultier on The Fifth Element and inspired the name of British New Wave band Duran Duran.

The costume features a top with a green mesh stomach, a green-painted plastic right breast, and a stitched-in gusset; and a black-and-white spotted cape. The cape is attached to the top with metal poppers on the shoulders.

The costume has some wear from production use and age, including some small holes around the stomach and paintwear on the breast.
