A set of sketches and storyboards hand-drawn by Ralph McQuarrie for Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Orlando theme park. Based on the Back to the Future film series, the ride serves as a mini-sequel to Back to the Future Part III. Legendary science-fiction concept artist Ralph McQuarrie, who most famously created concept art for the original Star Wars trilogy, worked on storyboards and concept art for the ride.
This lot comes from the collection of special photographic effects artist Douglas Trumbull. It consists of 13 pages of hand-drawn thumbnail sketch concepts for production paintings, drawings for production paintings, concept sketches and storyboards of the glacier field scene rendered by McQuarrie in graphite and ink on white and tracing paper. Also included is one printed storyboard page. This lot exhibits bent and torn edges, discoloration, as well as a sticky residue from previous tape placements.
