A pair of hand-painted Ralph McQuarrie concept artworks from the production of Universal Studio's Back to the Future: The Ride. In the attraction, visitors helped Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) recover the stolen Delorean from Biff Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson). McQuarrie was the conceptual designer for the ride, which had visual effects by Douglas Trumbull and ran from 1991 to 2007 at Universal's Hollywood and Florida theme parks (2016 in Japan).

This lot consists of a pair of hand-painted concept artworks of the Delorean traveling through an icy landscape and an active volcano rendered in mixed media on illustration board. Each features McQuarrie's signature dated 1989 and marked "BTTF," as well as marked on the backing "Painting for BTTF 1989 by Ralph McQuarrie." This lot exhibits minor grime to the edges.
