Marty McFly's (Michael J. Fox) screen-matched poncho from Robert Zemeckis' Back to The Future Part III. McFly discarded his initial colourful cowboy outfit and swapped it for his poncho after Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) rescued him from Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson) and his attempt to hang McFly.

Markings on this poncho and placement of certain threads screen-match it to the scenes in which Doc and Marty attempt to power the DeLorean in 1885, and again as Marty attempts to rouse Doc from his binge. While the poncho was worn several different ways, the knotting of the wool filling yarn as it passed through the warp yarn created a one-of-a-kind and unique cluster of shapes and textures not found on any other poncho. A continuing play on Marty having identified himself to as "Clint Eastwood," this poncho is based on the real Clint Eastwood's poncho worn by his "Man with No Name" character in from "The Dollars Trilogy" of films.

This lot consists of a hand-woven rectangular wool poncho in earthen tones and pale red tassels. It features Native American-inspired key patterns as part of the design around the neck. The border of the poncho alternates between an "S" shape and the four-dot design found around the neck. This lot exhibits fraying threads, stiff fibres and loosened warp and filling yarn.
