462. Hill Valley 2015 Public Works Coveralls and Light-up Surveyor's Transit

A set of Hill Valley 2015 Public Works coveralls and a light-up surveyor's transit from Robert Zemeckis' 1989 sci-fi adventure sequel Back to the Future Part II. Public Works employees in coveralls gathered alongside other citizens to look at the shattered windows of the Hill Valley Courthouse Mall, and a road crew using a transit tool is seen working next to the movie theatre when Marty was "attacked" by a "Jaws 19" shark hologram.

The white cotton coveralls feature a red metal mesh strip on each chest pocket, "HILL VALLEY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS" is printed in red on the back and "57" is handwritten inside. The custom-made surveyor's transit is made from wood, metal, and plastic, finished in dark grey with blue and black detailing. A light is mounted to the bottom alongside a battery holder. Powered by two 9-volt batteries, the light illuminates red when the button on the underside is pressed down. The electronics are temperamental. The coveralls exhibit subtle yellowing and minor stains, and the transit displays paint wear and scuffing. Dimensions (surveyor's transit): 38 cm x 22 cm x 10 cm (15" x 8.75" x 4")
