Celtic's (Ian Whyte) screen-matched predator costume display from Paul W. S. Anderson's AVP: Alien vs. Predator. Celtic, the leader of the three Predators featured in the film, joined his Yautja brothers in the ancient Yautja initiation rite of hunting xenomorphs in a pyramid deep beneath the icy surface of Antarctica. The Yautja bio-mask and damage on the chest piece in this costume screen-match to various shots throughout the film.
Created by Academy Award®-winning special effects group Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI), this massive, intricately detailed costume consists of a fiberglass metallic gray bio-mask with sculpted mechanical details and deep claw marks across the front from Celtic's battle with the Grid xenomorph; a multicolor foam latex body suit finished with hand-painted reptilian markings, and foam locs on a foam latex cowl with a hole for the performer's face; a black nylon cord body net; a black foam neck ring seal; chest, shoulder, arm, leg, and feet armor made of foam rubber and painted in a steel-like color and worn finish; a faux-leather loincloth; a pair of rubber tassets; a series of resin and rubber belt details; and a pair of rubber and foam feet.
The costume features a shoulder cannon affixed to the left shoulder as well as two wrist gauntlets. The gauntlet for the right arm features extended cast resin wrist blades designed by production to appear melted by acidic xenomorph blood. This costume comes displayed on a custom mannequin. This lot exhibits foam fragility, chipped and flaked paint, and exposed resin. Dimensions: (displayed) 40" x 40" x 85" (102 cm x 102 cm x 216 cm)
