A miniature post box made for and used in the production of The Avengers, the 1998 big screen adaptation of the classic British TV series.
This miniature is of a classic British telephone box and would have been used in the scene in which De Wynter unleashed his weather device on the world, covering London with a thick layer of snow. The entirety of Trafalgar Square was built in miniature, along with cars, cabs, buses and Nelson's Column, to accommodate the live action effect.
The miniature is made of acrylic and resin painted red. It features small details to look as realistic as possible, such as the royal insignia and paper adverts on the inside. The box shows wear from production use and age, including scuffs and scratches. The red paint is flaking away from the main bulk of the miniature, meaning that it is slightly discoloured in some places, and the roof does not sit properly on top of the phone box. Considering its age and production use, it remains in a good condition.
