A Templar's cast in sword and scabbard from Justin Kurzel's video game adaptation Assassin's Creed.

When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus, a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories, he soon discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious society, the Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, the Assassins take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the relic that is, the ‘Apple of Eden’.

The warriors of the Templar order, serving under Ojeda (Hovik Keuchkerian) and the leader of the Spanish Inquisition, Torquemada (Javier Gutiérrez), used their swords as they battled the assassins Aguilar (Michael Fassbender) and Maria (Ariane Labed).

This version of the weapon would have been used for stunts – made from rubber with a metal armature in the hilt, the sword cannot be drawn from its scabbard. The Holy Cross of the Templar order has been incorporated into the pommel and scabbard, with shades of dark grey paint on the cross guard to replicate the appearance of steel. The hilt displays raised ridges for gripping. The scabbard has been finished in black to resemble stitched leather.

There are signs of wear to the paint finish, and the residue of black adhesive is present on the base of the scabbard. Despite this wear the weapon remains in very good production-used condition.
