An ornate dagger belonging to Benedicto (Carlos Barden) from Justin Kurzel's 2016 video game adaptation Assassin's Creed.

When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus, a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories, he soon discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious society, the Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, the Assassins take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the relic that is, the ‘Apple of Eden’.

This curved-handled knife is seen prominently in Benedicto’s waistband in the opening scene, the initiation of Aguilar de Nerha (also played by Michael Fassbender) into the Assassins’ Brotherhood.

This item is a metal blade, engraved decoratively and given a delicately tarnished look to signify age. The blade leads to a resin hilt, painted and engraved to resemble bone, held in place with two metal nails. This item displays some signs of wear and handling, but as production worked to achieve an aged, well-handled effect, any minor marks are hard to discern and the overall piece is in a very good condition.
